These perennials native to eastern North America dazzle the eye and provide vital habitat.
Invite this blend of native wildflowers into a patch of bare ground; within 2-3 years, you will have manifested a beautiful plant community, one that provides habitat for the many organisms that have co-evolved with the native plants of North America.

500 seeds sows 25-30 square feet; 1 ounce sows 80-100 square feet; 4 ounces sows 300-500 square feet; and 1 pound sows 1200-2000 square feet. For best results, sow in cold-weather months, at least one month before cold weather yields to spring. Full instructions are below.
Growing instructions
Sow your wildflower patch in early to mid-spring. Alternatively, sow in late fall, and the perennial seeds will establish enough to overwinter and come up the following spring.
Prepare the soil as you would for any bed. Clean out the weeds. Aerate with a garden fork if compact, then rake flat. Lift open the spout of your Seed Shaker and spread the seeds out evenly over an area no bigger than 100 square feet. Then press seeds into the soil by walking over the planted area (with flat-soled shoes!) or using a board to pat them down. If the soil is dry, water the seeds in. In fall, soils are usually moist enough without additional watering.
Continue watering in spring for a few weeks; again, fall sowings usually don't need it. Weed fastidiously until plants reach 12-18" in height. Be patient; the perennial blooms will get better every year!
