Bells of Ireland
Also known as “shell flower,” Bells of Ireland is prized for its showy stalks of apple-green calyces. This summer flowering annual grows wild in Turkey, but its vibrant green has come to be associated with the Emerald Isle. Direct sow in early spring and it will thrive in the cooler weather, producing lots of upright stems. In the language of flowers, Bells of Ireland represent good luck.
