Not only is phacelia a fantastic flower with a fantastic name, but it has a lot to offer in return for decent soil and sun. Its purple gossamer flowers are beloved by pollinators and people alike. But perhaps more surprising is its usefulness as a cover crop: the plants winter kill and administer a generous dose of biomass to the soil.
