Living Remedies - Foundations of Herbal Medicine with Amber Williams of Fable & Sow Theatre Farm - 7/18 - 1:30PM

Discover the healing power of plants in this hands-on exploration of herbal medicine!

In the first half of Living Remedies, we will explore 10 powerful medicinal herbs:
Yarrow, Echinacea, Basil, Lemon Balm, Dandelion, Nettle, Chamomile, Catnip,
Peppermint and Garlic. Through sensory exploration, engaging multiple senses,
students will examine, touch, taste, and smell each herb as they learn their traditional
and modern uses, their health-promoting properties, therapeutic benefits, tips for
growing and incorporating these herbs into your garden, and how to identify and ethically forage herbs in the wild.

In the second half of the course, we will dive into herbal preparation methods,
including glycerites, tinctures, poultices, salves, vinegars, decoctions and infusions.
Each student will have the opportunity to make their very own herbal glycerite and herbal oil infusion to take home with them!

Gain confidence in incorporating herbs into your daily wellness routine.
Whether you’re a beginner or looking to deepen your herbal knowledge, this course
provides a strong foundation in the art and science of plant-based healing.

This is a 4 hour workshop suitable for ages 15 and up. 

Fable & Sow Theatre Farm is a unique theatre lab, educational hub, and
permaculture farm located on lands historically stewarded by Munsee
Lenape, Mohican, and Schaghticoke tribes, currently known as New
Windsor, New York. Fable & Sow Theatre Farm is a limited liability
company owned and operated by husband and wife team, Amber and
Hampton Williams-Fluker. Our farm serves as a model for regenerative
agriculture and agroforestry farming, where ethical land stewardship is the
primary focus.
