Call for Art: National Heirloom Expo
The Art of the Heirloom is an exhibition at the National Heirloom Expo that celebrates artists' interpretations of heirloom seeds and the cultural importance of preserving our collective garden heritage.
The National Heirloom Expo is a rare gathering in Santa Rosa, California of gardeners, food activists, farmers, and seedy people from all over the country. With educational lectures, activities, and incredible keynote speakers, the Expo brings in 20,000+ people while raising awareness about heirloom seeds and the threat of GMOs.
Each year, Hudson Valley Seed Company brings our Art of Seed exhibition of original art created for our seed packs to the Expo. We also open up this version of the gallery show to artists all over America who paint, draw, carve, embroider, collage, print, etc. images related to heirloom gardening. Anyone can enter! All mediums are accepted except for photography.
If you an artist inspired by heirloom gardens, please apply! Your gardening-related art will be seen by thousands of people. To enter, see the guidelines below and link to submission form here.
Deadline for entries is August 18th!
Due to the volume of submissions, we can't answer individual emails with questions. Please do your best with the submission form and we'll get back to you.
One entry per artist. We know it's hard to choose, but we only have space for one work of art per artist. Multiple entries will not be accepted. Thanks for your understanding.
