Deitrich's Wild Broccoli Raab
Brassica rapa
Certified Organic
Microgreens Suitable
Grown on Our Farm
A great summer-sown broccoli raab.
What a joy to stroll into the fields in April and find a bounty of florets when little else is available to eat fresh. A New Jersey landrace variety from Nate and Dusty at the Experimental Farm Network, this broccoli raab is delectable raw or cooked, and the florets can be harvested and left to regrow throughout the season. The leaves are delicious too!
Growing instructions
Direct sow anytime between late Spring and late Summer by scattering seeds and tamping down before watering in lightly. Thin to 4" apart for sturdier greens, or leave plants close together and cut them in bunches. Allow 20 days for baby, 40 for mature leaves. Succession sow 2 weeks apart for a steady harvest. Cut the florets when they're 4-8", then return to harvest again every 3-6 days.
