Zinnia linearis
AKA Zinnia linearis, Classic Zinnias are adorable. They produce compact, low-growing, single-petaled ground-cover plants. Blooms are in the gold to orange range, with whites, too. Flowers are 1.5" across. Plants are long-blooming and tolerate dry heat.

Growing instructions
Direct sow after last frost. Or, sow indoors 4-6 weeks earlier, then transplant into average garden soil in a mostly sunny location. Too much fertility may result in more foliage and fewer blooms. Pinch off spent flower heads for continued blooming until frost, or let some go to seed to save for next season.
