Dara Daucus
Daucus carota
Certified Organic
A gorgeous filler flower for vase arrangements.
A well-behaved relative of Queen Anne’s Lace, Dara Daucus produces umbel-shaped, lacy inflorescences of pale pink to cranberry-chocolate flowers. Sometimes called Dara Ammi, the Ammi designation is erroneous: it is actually a carrot and far less aggressive than its Daucus counterparts, Bishop’s Weed and Queen Anne’s Lace. Dara Daucus produces an abundance of blooms that can be used for long-lasting cut flowers.
Growing instructions
Direct sow seed thinly in rows in early spring after last frost. Cover lightly and keep well weeded, carrots can take up to 14 days to germinate, and can be quickly choked about by weeds. Succession sow every 2-3 weeks and deadhead plants to prolong flowering season
