Mexican Mint Marigold
Tagetes lucida
Certified Organic
Pretty flowers and leaves that taste like tarragon!
AKA Mexican Tarragon. An aromatic marigold species that is gaining popularity as a more heat-tolerant alternative to tarragon. Both the leaves and flowers are edible and have a sweet, tarragon-anise flavor. As a tender perennial, it is generally grown as an annual in colder climates; however, its compact habit makes it fairly easy to overwinter indoors as a houseplant too.
Growing instructions
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before first frost, then transplant after threat of frost has passed, or direct sow outdoors after frost. Pinch plants back when they are several inches tall to encourage branching. Harvest leaves throughout the season and use them as a fresh or dried herb.
