Touchstone Gold Beet
Certified Organic
Beta vulgaris
The best golden beet available.
The tops of Touchstone Gold's are a little shorter than typical red beets. The bright color in these golden beets comes from the high amounts of beta carotene in the roots. This variety is very sweet and much less earthly than typical red bears. The golden hues of these beets won't bleed, making them perfect for mixed beet salads, and other roasted root vegetable dishes.

Direct sow starting 1-2 weeks before last frost and continue until 8-10 weeks before first fall frost. Beets prefer fertile, weed-free soil for formation of large roots. Thin young seedlings to every two inches, then pull out every other beet to enjoy at the baby stage, leaving the remainder to grow to full size. Leave later sowings in the ground for harvest through November, then pull and store.
