Planted in late October, and harvested mid June after getting all floppy. I definitely crowded them so they did turn out smaller but overall 167 total usable plants ready to cure!

Excellent quality. Looking forward to harvest time.

Seeds planted in November. I covered them with mulch for the winter. Uncovered the first of March. Plants are doing very well.

Planted them in the fall and it's March now and they are sprouting. Check back to this space in a few months with a full report :)

First time ordering, received Dutch red shallots ready for fall sowing. They were packaged nicely and the shallots looked even better.

Wow! This is only part of my shallot harvest!

Planted October 8, the shallots are above the soil and on November 5, looking good despite several nights of mid-20s temperatures. Next, a thick straw mulch to protect them through the winter.

Bought these for late fall planting, Bulbs arrived in great condition. One half pound yields about 50 bulbs which will be enough. Time will tell but expect a good yield next year.
Grew up in the Hudson Valley which influenced my purchase. The quality of the shallots and garlic I receivedhas been very good.

The shallots are beautiful; large and solid, most with secondary bulbs.

I'm planting them this week. I cannot wait for the results next year. It came well packed and with instructions. I'll give you 5 stars in my next purchase from you guys next year when I see the results. Thanks!

This is our first time growing shallots. Cannot wait to see them coming up in the spring!

These shallots are in great condition. I planted them right away. I live in Northern New Mexico and we are just getting to the cool stages at night, still unseasonably warm during the day. My shallots are starting to sprout, but will go dormant when the weather gets colder. I cannot wait till spring to enjoy them.

I am very excited to grow these Shallots. Upon arrival I inspected them and they can with information and came in little storage bags to keep them in until planting. They look like a quality product, just like everything I purchase from this company :)

I purchase one pound of hardneck garlic variety pack, and a pound of Dutch red shallots. The garlic bulbs were very small so I contacted them. The first response from them was not acceptable. They said that is the size of all the garlic this year, and the cloves will still produce large bulbs. We all know that's not true. Finally he said he hand picked a variety pack with the largest bulbs to replace the tiny bulbs. Fair outcome, and I didn't have to pay to return the small ones.... Thank you Brendan.
As far as the Dutch Red Shallots, most of them look small, but this is my first time growing shallots. I planted them 10 days ago, so we'll see the outcome next summer.

I have planted these in the past and lived the results. They stored great and lasted well thru the winter. The ones I plant a few weeks ago have already started to establish themselves with a few shoots coming up. Thank you.

These shallots are very easy to grow. They also keep very well and are so delicious!

Bought these last year and had a great harvest. They are truly delicious!

I had problems locating shallots for sale last year and came across Hudson Valley Seed Co. via an internet search. Boy, am I glad I did. Their shallots thrived and I ended up with so many just from 1 pound of starter bulbs. They have been great in dressings, omelettes .. in fact I use them in anything. I've ordered more this year. They have arrived in great shape in a beautiful cotton storage bag. I love them!

It's a bit too early to plant these shallots yet but they are beautiful and plentiful ! I'm sure they will sprout in the spring and give us a bountiful harvest with plenty to share with neighbors. Everything we have purchased from Hudson Valley Seed is top quality and healthy and a great value !

1st Time Shallot Growee
I purchased this variety and planted it in fall. I have grown garlic for years but never shallots before. It popped up in early spring and I was able to snip a few tops to enjoy, which were delicious. I didn't take too many green tops as I didn't want to impact my harvest. I harvested in July maybe a week before I harvested my garlic. Most plants harvested 3 bulbs, but I did get a few with 5 bulbs. While I didn't weigh my harvest, I would guess it produced 3 times the amount I planted. We had a dry hot June. The bulbs are smaller than what I find in grocery stores but these were super easy to grow and are delicious.
